Question about a conversion
Please excuse my ignorance. I have searched for this answer, but couldn't find it.
I have a 2006 EZGO TXT. There may be more things I need to call it, but I don't know what they are. I have a F/R knob. I've been seeing some F/R switches on pics on this forum. Is it possible to change my type of knob to a switch? Seems like it would require a fair amount of reconstruction. I have hand arthritis and a switch would be so much easier. Didn't know if I'd have to buy a different cart to get that. Thanks. |

The lever type directional selector is rather stiff to operate. You can convert to a toggle switch by replacing the F&R switch assembly with a Reversing Contactor.
Or you can trade for a PDS Ezgo cart or any Club Car or Yamaha that has a toggle switch F&R. |

you could use a different shifter handle also. jakes makes a nice kit to do it-sort of like a floor shifter. this one i put in for the same reason.

Try getting some silicone spray and lube the shaft assembly and the switch itself. Let it sit for a few minutes and then work it back and forth. You'll be amazed at how much easier it works! + it helps prevent corrosion on the terminal connections! The silicone is dielectric also! I have arthritis also and know exactly what you're talking about!
