2001 DS series, what is this one wire elec box?
I have been trying to figure out what this box is and what it does and cant find it anywhere on any of the wiring diagrams I have seen..
The box is located inside the driver side frame rail behind the seat. It has one 10 gauge black wire going to the ground dist block and coming out of the other end the same black wire going to a lug on the factory controller.. On it is labeled max watts 125,max amps 125 serial number 03-02 caution gets very hot.. box is 8 inch x 2 inch x 1 inch thick.. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.. |

Lmswest, sorry I do not know what that is but I traced it and it goies to some wiring harness near the f&r switch in my cart but do not know where it actually is hooked to.
When I replaced my controller a few weeks ago I missed that wire but later found it and assumed it went to b- on controller. Ever since my cart intermittently cuts in and out. Can you confirm which controller lug it is connected to? Maybe one of the smarter guys here can help us out with what this is. |

B- on the controller through the mystery box and then to the ground bar next to charger port

It is a voltage reducer. I have one on my cart. Reduces 2 batteries..16v down to 12v for acc., like lights and horn and such.

yep thats the voltage reducer that was on most 48 volt C.C,s back in the 90,s ...................................
