90 club car wont move
I have just purchased a 1990 club car 36v. I replaced all batteries, charged them, then went for a cruise. I noticed a spark coming from under the cart so i stopped to check it out. It turned out this had been going on for a while and the end of one of the speed coils had completely burned off. I cleaned the connection, reconnected the coil and now it will not go. Im getting a click from the solenoid, batteries test good and i can hear/see the motor trying to work.
Am i missing something? It worked fine when i test drove it. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 90 club car wont move
how bad was the coil? which one was it and what all did you do to it? ............if the cart ran before you worked on it then it has to be something you did or didn,t hook back up right so think about everything you did...........................

Re: 90 club car wont move
P.S.
Check all the coils for breaks or bad connections. If coils and high amperage cable connections are all clean & tight. Open the V-glide and check the condition of the wiper arm and contacts.... Did you notice if the solenoid was clicking when you try to go? |

Re: 90 club car wont move
Thanks for the replys. I opened the v glide and one of the contacts was completely melted. Maybe thats the cause of the torched coil?
