Default Bagwell Battery Maintenence?

Ok my question is simple. I've got two batteries in the bag well. I also have a rear flipflop seat back there and about 1 inch of room max above the batteries. Is there some trick to maintaining these batteries or is it time for me to start taking bolts off the seat?

On my EZGO I replaced the four nuts holding the flip-flop seat to its frame with stainless wing nuts and lock washers. In a minute I can remove the seat and get right in there.
