Batteries not charging
I had a broken lead on the charger fixed, so it is fine.
The charger is an Eagle Series i-4818. 48 Volt / 18 Amps. The battery status red just blinks at 10%, no matter how long it's plugged in. The cart is a 2008 Badboy. (EZGO) Where do I start? |

Re: Batteries not charging
Disconnect charger, drive cart around yard or let the batteries rest for a couple hours.
Connect a DVM across the main negative and main positive terminals of the battery pack and note the voltage. Connect charger and observe on-charge voltage. It should rapidly climb from the at rest voltage up to about 56.4V within about an hour or so. Then climb at a slower rate up into the charger's 58.6V to 61.3V automatic shut-off range. |

Re: Batteries not charging
That just might be the reason why charger stays at 10%.
When you get your new batteries, be sure to charge them full before first use. Then break them in properly to get max storage capacity. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Batter...n_Methods.html And then keep them as fully charged as possible for max life-span. |

Re: Batteries not charging
Yes, i think a 48 volt pack needs to be at like 32 volts before the charger will come on,, what batteries do you have in the cart 6v or 8v??

Re: Batteries not charging
yes they can get too drained for the charger to charge them. You will need to hook them up individually (or pairs) to bring the charge up enough that the charger will sense voltage and kick in.
Do a search here, lots of info about this |

As you guys already know, they are interconnected. I have disconnected the first battery and the polarity does not appear to be marked. Help? Then ridicule at will. |
