88 Marathon won't move!!
I have a 1988 Ezgo Marathon 36volt, wich won;t do anything. I checked volts at F/R switch 37.1 v. No volts at key switch. Solenoid has juice only when you move F/R switch it moves from 1 side of solenoild to the other side of switch. I have 37 volts at motor on 1 lug. I'm not sure if solenoid is bad? Any help I thank you !!!!

Re: 88 Marathon won't move!!
Sounds like you have a resistor drive cart.
At 37.1V, your batteries are only 70% charged, so the ought to be charged. Before checking the high current circuit (heavy cables) you need to fix the solenoid activation circuit. Here is a schematic with the solenoid activation circuit highlighted. Troubleshooting it is a little tricky because the solenoid coil is in the middle of the circuit rather than at an end, so you have tor reverence your voltmeter to B- for part of it and to B+ for the other part. |
