Electric Motor Maintenance & Inspection
How ya'll doin?
Question, is there any type of electric motor maintenance we should be doing? besides brush inspection and replacement? How do we know when a brush is bad? only 30% life left? If the brushes ar good is there any benefit cleaning them up? what about blowing out the motor to get all the dust out? Or as the old saying goes "if it aint broke dont fix it" Thanks, Steve |

Re: Electric Motor Maintenance & Inspection
I think in general, keep them clean, listen for noises and you may need to deal with brushes. Usually bearings, brushes wear out and you know it.

Drive it like you stole it and deal with it when the time comes.
