USB charger socket wiring
I have a 2011 TXT and want to install a UBS plug. I bought a Blue Sea dual USB charger socket and it fits nicely in the hole below the seat where the fwd/rev handle was on the older models.
How do I wire the charger socket? Thanks |

Re: USB charger socket wiring
ok ... you will need a 48v > 12v voltage reducer
then it just a matter of wiring the socket to the 12v |

Re: USB charger socket wiring
Old thread, but I'm mounting same socket.
Can I take 12v from one battery of the pack? What should I be aware of if I do it like this instead of voltage reducer? |

Re: USB charger socket wiring
Not sure which cart you have, but below is a picture of the 12v fuse block on my 36v 2001 before I rebuilt it. It came this was from the factory. There are spaces left on that fuse block that you could use. Ezgo got the 12v by tapping the + on #5 battery and the - on the #6 battery. But...this is not a good way to do it, as it draws two batteries down unevenly. You need a reducer or a separate 12v battery. I have a reducer, but the guys in the know seem to be split on reducer or 12v.

Re: USB charger socket wiring
Are you planning on powering anything besides the USB adapter? If not the batteries will probably survive, as EZGO used to power lights and a horn this way. Not ideal, but how many mAs does a USB adapter use?

Re: USB charger socket wiring
Thank you guys but I just found that I had a lapsus idioticus!!!! Haha.
My batteries are 8V, not 12V I'll go for the reducer and fuse block. |
