Club Car New Cart Batterys

Since when has Club Car STARTED SHIPPING new carts with "INTERSTATE BATTERYS"?
Some dealer apparently is selling new CC with Interstate batterys as original equipment? I have now seen 2 new CC one's with U8VGC and other with U12VGC batterys.

I noticed the same thing last week when I went to the CC dealership to download speed code 4. I personally think Interstate batteries are as good if not better then Trojans.

I would guess it came from Interstate or one of their associates? No just kidding but in my own personal opinion its the last battery I would depend on in anything I own?

wow, are you serious! Ive tried pretty much every battery out there under $100. Sears, Napa, Exide, Autocraft, etc. and never had one Interstate battery go bad. Ive had them on my boat for two years now and theyve taken quite a load. Never had to recharge. I Imagined they would be the same quality on golf carts. Wouldnt think Club Car would use them if they were last in the list. Got the quote from Club Car.

Club Car uses Crown and U.S batteries. The "new and Improved" interstate is having issue, as they are now made by Johnson controls ( use to be made by US). Made in Mexico folks, and they dont last. See if you have som friends in high golf cart areas and see how well they are holding up.

EASYDOESIT--You said the key word "UNDER $100.00" Any real quality golf cart battery will run over that amount. You just dont buy quality lead ( LEAD MEANS POWER AND LIFE ) and build a quality batterys for less than $100.? There is a BIG difference between starting batterys like auto, truck, marine ( made to turn a starter for few seconds and be recharged in short period of time ) and power sourse batterys ( battery only powered carts and cars and solar power resevoirs ).
If you are ever in doubt about lead content just pick up a cheap battery and a quality battery and you will be able to tell difference right away. Unless some manufacturers are going back to post WW2 when lead was scarse and some manufacturers ( I wont mention any brand names ) were pouring cement like material into battery boxes to make them seem high quality??

OLDMEC- Trojan and US Batteries are probably the best batteries to use for golf carts today. Some say that US Batteries are better. Interstate 6 and 8 volt golf cart batteries are manufactured by US Battery in the good old US of A. As a matter of fact, Interstate 6 and 8 volt batteries are identical to US Battery. So then, how bad can Interstate batteries be? Is it their 12V battery you say are made in Mexico?

If you look at Trojan literature on net you will see that they compare their batterys to Crown and US battery companies? I take this as being their closes compeditors? As to batterys being exactly the same I cannot comment as its been years since I wored in battery manufacturing. At that time batterys were made to each companies specs and not just the matter of adding a different name tag to the same battery coming off the line? So to say all of one manufacturing companies products are the same is like saying GM's Chev is the exact same as Caddilac??
In my opinion I will NOT USE A INTERSTATE BATTERY in any vehicle I own. I consider them what I term "RENTAL BATTERYS" as they dont seem to ever go near full warentee life and by "ADJUSTING" them over and over you pay for them many times over. Some people have good luck with them and so I say good for them as they are the lucky ones.
