You’re going to have an incredibly difficult time locating a complete airbox. And without the complete airbox it’s not even worth buying a partial airbox. If it hasn’t been jetted to compensate for the missing airbox then it’s running incredibly lean. Your best bet is to buy a jet kit and it’s gonna take some driving to compensate, but keep swapping nets until it’s running like it should.

Too lean is gonna wear the engine out and it’s gonna run hot. Too rich and it’s gonna run boggy and could also lead to issues and fouled plugs. I tend to prefer to err on the side of too rich, safer than running too lean. But it takes some time and adjustments and just a process of swapping jets and taking test drives until it’s right. My last G9 didn’t have an airbox and it had an aftermarket carb. I settled on a 120 jet with it and it ran well. It definitely was running a bit on the rich side but it was “good enough” for the time being. Wasn’t horribly rich but definitely fat. Never had the time to finish dialing it in but lost interest and sold it. I gave the guy the jet kit with it so he could finish tuning it.
