Again, make sure to check the welds. If they are broken, the cradle will flex and eventually lead to a crack in the muffler inlet pipe. If you knew how much that muffler cost, you would be checking the welds immediately. The muffler cost more than you probably paid for the cart.

haha dang your smart !! hit the head of the nail again.. paid 400 for cart muffler is whaaaaat ?!!! pffft crazy. I will be checking you can bet on that. thanks

It'll be hard to find a muffler for that price. 3 years ago I saw them as high as $1600. Company folded and price gouging ensued. It seems to be stabilizing a little now. $903 from EZGO.

now that we are talking about that muffler kinda makes you wonder why they mounted it were they did in the way they did? Should have found a way to mount that baby to the engine so when your mounts failed it wouldn't do as you described. oh well

It doesn't happen when the mounts fail, only if the welds break of the muffler cradle comes loose.
I changed mine. I removed the bolts between the muffler pipe and intake pipe. I bought longer bolts and installed a spring under each bolt nut. This gives the setup a little bit of compliance. I used nyloc nuts.

ahh another great tip. tips that only come from experience, awesome that your here and willing to share them with the rookies (me). Tell me, what did you wrap the muffler with?

2" wide header wrap from ebay. It really keeps the heat out of the engine compartment.

yeah, Im really liking that idea as well !! it gets crazy hot in there for sure. thanks again you keep it up im going to be asking you for more pics. don't get skittish pics of your cart.
