What year confused / drive belt
I just bought a yam drive gas and I have a sticker that says year of construction 2011 but my serial number seems to indicate it could be a 2012. JW8-1007**.
Trying to replace my drive belt and I got a new jw1-6241-00. That is way to small (26mm) compared to what the manual says. The cart has an ezgo dayco drive belt on it right now so cant swap part numbers. Any help please would be awesome, do I have a 2011 or 2012 and does it matter for drive belt. Thanks |

Www.plowmanscarts.com give him a call and he will get you exactly what you need, even has the HD plowmans belts (which I would recommend they’re great)

Re: What year confused / drive belt
The serial number defines the "year" for parts and service purposes. Anything built late into a year tends to be the next year model (my 2015 was built 12/2014). They changed the clutches from the poorly constructed Team brand back to what they've used before and I though that was effective 2012.5 which doesn't help you at all. I do know they used different belts so suspect that is the problem. You can find pictures of the Team clutches and compare your drive clutch to that and it will quickly tell you what you have. Basically the drive Team clutch has a nipple like protrusion at the end versus a dust cap. If that is the case, just order a belt for a 2011 and you'll get the right one. If it has the dust cap instead of the nipple, order one for a 2013 and you will also get the right one. It's a bit confusing because they were also using the internal wet brake system during those years along with some other "improvements" that were abandoned in favor of the old tried and true systems. I can tell you that the 2012.5 up through the G29/Drive series takes a J55-G6241-02-00 (at least my 2015 does).

Re: What year confused / drive belt
Construction year is June 2011 and serial seems 2012 but it has a team clutch. Ordered a belt for that year and came in at 25mm thick. Might just buy the same dayco ezgo belt on it now and call it a day lol. My guess it was the same size as stock.

Re: What year confused / drive belt
So it seems my cart is a 2012 based on serial number JW8-1001xx.
Just still confused as the manual says belt size is 1.20x39.76 in. and to replace belt when it hits 27mm. Yet all these new belts 2007 to 2012 that replace the original release are 1 1/8" x or 1-1/16" x 41-1/8". |
