Default converter exploded

Installed a 48 t0 12 volt converter from buggies unlimited and a headlight kit it worked about a minute and then then the converter blew up with smoke coming out , I checked all wiring and it was installed according to the diagram, I am trying to get a replacement. Has any one had any problem like this?? I checked for voltage to the frame and I had 4 volts but I washed the batteries and it went away.

We have sponsors on this forum who back us. BU does not, and they recently sold.

Had the same thing happen to me two weeks ago. I also purchased it from BU. Called them and they had me talk to a tech guy and he had no ansewers for me but the convertor has a one year warrenty. They want you to purchase one if your in a hurry and when you they get theold one back they will credit your account. Hope this helps

I also purchased a bunch of things at the time I purchased the convertor and it was my first purchase for my first cart and it was not a good experiance I did lift and tires and rims and speed and torque kit. There was two items that I didnt want one they said I would need for the lift wheel stops and they where not needed with the lift that I purchased. I paid to send them back because they would not and I am still waiting for my credit.
