Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
Thanks for all the replies guys.
One last question regarding maximum cell difference from highest to lowest. I am seeing about .25. I believe I read as long as it isn't greater the .3 your ok. |

Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
If that's accurate, that is quite a big imbalance. I would shoot for .05 to .10 for best results.

Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
keep tabs on whether its always the same cell that higher or lower.. maybe the pack is just not fully balanced for some reason but yeah .25 is pretty high as far as an imbalance... my bms turns on balancing is the cells are any more out of balance than .015v
when I first built my pack I had a "runner" cell that would shoot up to the 3.65v before all the rest... after a good week of balancing that cell has calmed (likely wasnt actually balanced) down and im not seeing any issues with balance under discharge or charging conditions. |

Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
As a comparison....
I took my cart back in our woods today. About 40 acres and several miles of trails. I started at 100% and after about 2 hours of trails and maybe 1.75 miles I was down to 88%. This is still much better than my lead acids would do. Best part is I don't have to worry about the water in the batteries. |

Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
Now that I made that statement I am over the .3. This is only the second charge cycle if that matters

Re: Allied lithium 48v 150ah
That pack is way out of balance. It’s not just one cell, it’s many.

That is what a well balanced high quality pack should look like.
