Default How long are my barrey cables?

Im sure this has been asked and answered 100 times. I can't seem to find the information.

I am ordering a spool of cable to build 2awg wires for my cart. Does anybody know how many feet of wire I should order? Roughly

I have a 99 Club Car DS 36V. Converting to 48V with controller.

I could just order it tomorrow and take the time to measure what I have but I figured the answer would be on the forum.

Also out of curiosity has anybody stepped up to 1awg or 0 or even 00?

Thanks.

my 2000 Series DS took roughly 29 feet out of a 35 foot roll of 2ga. but i also turned 3 of my batteries around so all the cables run on the outside and not across, something to think about .

layout can been seen here : http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/album.php?albumid=2817

Get out a piece of string and measure all of your cables that way.

Unless you have one heck of a big motor, you will never need anything larger that 2 ga. 4 ga will handle up to 500 amp controller under normal use.

My welding supply sells cable in 25 foot roll boxes. I had some left over after doing my 2003 IQ cart.

This is exactly what the tech guy at the local shop told me.

25 feet will do just fine and absolutely no gain in going bigger than 2 unless your planning a plus 700 amp upgrage.....
