Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
I have a 2012 YDRE 48v (6 - 8v batteries) and I am wanting to install a voltage reducer for a set of recpro led lights. I keep reading that it would be best to have a relay/switch between the batteries and the reducer. Are there any diagrams/instructions/input that shows how to wire a relay to the ignition key for my model? I can't find anything.
Thanks! |

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
You can save the trouble and get a voltage reducer that has a control wire on it that you wire to the key switch.

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
Where is the best place to mount the voltage reducer on the G29? Seems to be a lot of plastic under the seat and not a real good place.

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
Mine's mounted to the floor behind the driver's seat in the corner. Plenty of room there in mine (6X8V)

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
Did you mount it to the plastic or put a metal plate there?

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
It bolts through the plastic battery tray floor. It came that way on my cart. I bought it from a dealer with the lights installed.

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
Hey, this is the only post I've found about the RecPro lights from Amazon. Do you like them? I'm thinking about ordering as they seem good for the price. I've seen a couple of complaints of the brake lights staying on even after the 30 seconds?

Re: Question about relay switch for voltage reducer...
Yamaha never mounted any reducers on the battery tray (not saying you cant). yamaha used a metal bracket that sandwiched behind the controller to mount their Dc/Dc converters. i have seen many aftermarket converters mounted down low on the battery tray, and seen some of those contaminated by battery acid. i would look for options to mount it elsewhere. i'll see if i can find the part number for the factory bracket. Part number for bracket is "JC1-F7876-10-00".
