Need help with brake drum and axle PARCAR
Hello, A Church in my area has a ParCar P4E P4LB4-3YA0435, It was donated and they put new batteries in it (thinking nothing else was wrong with it). I became involved when they brought it to me and said it wouldn't move. The only thing that is wrong with it is on the drivers side the splines are worn off of the brake drum and also the axle has been damaged due to this. I would like to know where I can get parts (aftermarket would be great). The items I need are brake drum x1, drivers side axle x1 axle seals x2 and axle bearings x2 (I figured that while the axle is out I may as well press new bearings. Thank You in advance. Peace

I drilled the holes with a 5/16th bit and tapped it with a 3/8 tap -16 . I put two 3/8th grade 8 bolts in it. I used an impact wrench to tighten them against the axle and then cut the head off so I could get the wheel on. It was trashed anyway. I know we used that cart for at least three more years without issues again. No more stripped drums lol If you wanted to get the bolts back out when you do find a part you could use a different style bolt or weld a nut on the bolt where its cut off flush. This just worked for me as no parts were to be found and we only used this cart for installing new irrigation on the course. I was the only one who used it so I took it slow most of the time Or you might find the right part here. Maybe https://www.vintagegolfcartparts.com...on_brakes_drum |

Re: Need help with brake drum and axle PARCAR
Trig123,
Thanks for the reply and that is a good idea to get the cart moveable and useable again. I contacted Tomberlin and was given the # of a par car dealer that "should" be able to get the parts, I did see (not sure where) that the older ezgo splined shaft drums were the same. What I was wondering about is the transaxle- could it be the same as an old ezgo also, if so that would be easier to locate parts. Thanks for the link also, will check it out now. Peace |

The reason I did the hack was we overloaded this cart and it kept stripping drums. I stopped that and it made it several more years before we junked it out. Good luck |
