Club car DS speed sensor question
I have an 06 DS with the IQ system, for the most part it runs good but a few days ago it died out on me and then ran fine an hour later. I want to get ahead of any potential problems and going to start with the simple stuff and replace the speed sensor because I have no clue the last time it was. I was thinking of adding a high speed magnet as well. Here’s where I could use some guidance, there are two different sensors; one that snaps into the circular hole/slot (which is on my cart) and one that caps over the hole and held down with two bolts.
I noticed there are two phillips head screws in the general area where the bolts would go on the cap version so I’m wondering: Are the two are interchangeable or should I go with the one I have? If they are interchangeable is one better than the other? If they are not is there a difference in magnets between the two? Here are the two different versions: Golf Cart IQ Speed Sensor Deluxe Set Increased Stability & Speed for 48V Electric Golf Cart Club Car DS Precedent ADC https://a.co/d/4t4jCCr CLUBRALLY Club Car Speed Sensor and GE Magnet Golf Cart DS IQ & Precedent with GE Motor Only 102265601 https://a.co/d/d2h2LuM Last edited by Forty01; 04-20-2023 at 01:28 PM.. They are not interchangeable. The snap on is the older GE style motor. The magnet is different as well for each motor.
FYI: The screws you see on the GE motor holds a metal plate on behind the sensor. The other screws for the cap version actually hold the sensor on. You can test the sensor too, you may not need one: https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=68248 |

Re: Club car DS speed sensor question
Also be careful with Amazon and the the GE sensor magnet combo, most of them just give you a stock magnet with the sensor.
I order the GE magnet from Revolution, I’m sure he has the sensor as well. https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/motors Scroll to the bottom. |
