Battery cable through OBC?
Hello Everyone,
Just outfitted my 97 Club Car DS with 4 gauge battery cables (made them myself ). Does the cable from Battery #6 HAVE TO go through what appears to be just a grommet in the OBC? 4 gauge wire won't fit through the hole, so I have it zip-tied instead. Thanks! |

Re: Battery cable through OBC?
Makes sense. Went to charge my cart and the charger shut off after a few minutes. I'll re-route it. Thanks TahoeDawgZ71!

Yep, and here's another one for you...the direction the cable passes through the OBC does matter! I found this out since I had to reposition my OBC but you'll be ok if you're not doing crazy stuff.

My buddy just upgraded to 2g wire, (got it free... he said...LOL,) for his cart and had it with him at Ft Wilderness this past week. He left the original 6g wire in the OBC and ran the 2g around the OBC. But a much cleaner look is to just run your 4 gauge through the OBC... it should fit... mine did with a little push. |

I heard it's a bad idea to just drill the hole out larger, LOL!

Drilling the hole is highly unrecommended but if you have to just say Gorno told me to At least it will make for another interesting thread.
