Re: RXV Grinding Noise
Ok? I had it out today. Made the noise when I hit the brakes. That's a first. Drive it some more and no noise. I hit the brakes hard and the brakes are now stuck. The cart will barely move and it stinks like something is burning.

Re: RXV Grinding Noise
Well, at least you found your new problem, now that you finished-off the motor brake. Going to have to fix that before you can try anything else. Unnecessarily Jamming the brake to the floor on a rxv is a sure way to "find a problem". Did you check those hubs yet?

Re: RXV Grinding Noise
Yes. The hubs were fine. I think the brake was making the noise all along and it finally gave up.

Re: RXV Grinding Noise
Glad the hubs were good. Hope the motor brake solves the problems (new and old).

even if you didn't have one before. Now- Replace "parking/emergency" brake. (brake on motor) Note to CGtech-- How do we put stuff in Stickie? would save us a lot of typing? |

Re: RXV Grinding Noise
Lol. I should clarify. I did not hit the brakes hard on purpose to test out my problem....... I was driving it on flat ground pretty fast taking my dog for a run around my property. The dog jumped in front of me and I hit the brakes hard. Nothing I haven't done before. But this time it locked up.
I called the shop and told them to pick it up and fix it. I don't have time to do it myself. How much is a guesstimate that I should pay to replace the brake. Just looking for a ballpark figure. Thanks guys. |
