is it necessary to cut power to charger before unplugging cart?
hey Folks, I am new here and i am also new with carts. i was curious as to why, if the charger relay won't react if no power is detected, is it necessary to unplug the charger from the 110v outlet before unplugging the cart, and visa versa. plugging the cart in first, then plugging into 110. will it damage the batteries? or the charger?

Re: is it necessary to cut power to charger before unplugging cart?
With my Yamaha charger and cart, I plug the charger into the 110V before plugging into the cart and I unplug from the cart before I unplug from the 110V.

Re: is it necessary to cut power to charger before unplugging cart?
Im using the PowerWise 28115-G04 and i would think there would be no issues with just leaving it plugged into the outlet. given the fact that the relay will not actuate with no battery power detected. anyway,, thanks

I had my powerwise charger plugged in for ~14 years with no issue.

There is usually no procedure on this issue, unless you are using the Binford AutoCharge 3000.

very good, i honestly don't know where, or who told me to do that.. thanks, this will makes things easier... see, i wanted to have the charger inside a small shed, and the cart under a lean to behind it. be a hassle to have to go in shed and unplug it every time... thanks

Re: is it necessary to cut power to charger before unplugging cart?
My rule has always been if it is charging I pull the 110 first because it is lower current and easier on contacts. If charged, doesn't matter

I would say it doesn't matter. The guys at the golf courses never unplug the chargers, they only plug and unplug the carts.
