Default Another rxv brake question

We have an 2012 EZ GO freedom RXV with "electrical" smell and reduced range. Serviced all battery cables and load tested batteries. All passed. After one road test really could smell the customers concern. the brake assy on the end of the motor was very hot to the touch. Took the brake off t inspect. The metal brake disc is half covered with brake disc material. The other half is clean. The brake fiber disc is not broken or cracked. I have seen other posts here on RXV brakes, but not this one specifically. Anyone have any input? This unit is used on a university campus.

That brake is probably on its way out. Discoloration of the metal where it meets the motor usually indicates overtightening of the 3 attaching bolts. The bolts should be tightened just till the lock washers are fully compressed. Also, be sure to clean everything, especially the mounting surface on the motor.
