Trying to help a friend.. With a dead cart..
Hi all,
The cart in question is a 96 EZGO TXT DCS Im not sure what took place to kill the cart. Or where to start troubleshooting. The key switch is good tested that with an ohmmeter. One way is open, the other is closed. No click of the solenoid when cart is switched to run, key is on, and gas pedal is pressed. Are there any fuses to check? Can you reset the controller? Thanks for any guidance. (I told him to buy a Club Car... hehehe... dont kill me) |

All the wires highlighted in Red have to have battery pack voltage on then to get the solenoid to click.
Check the voltage on the smaller of the three wires coming out the backside of the charger receptacle. |

*Update*
No voltage at key switch or relay contacts (small posts) on the solenoid with the key on and run/tow switched to run. |

Will do, and is there a micro switch on the charger receptacle (that could be the problem) for this model? |

Check the red wire coming out of the socket for pack voltage. Also check that wire on the passenger side where the harness comes across

Oops, had to do some Honey-Do stuff and didn't check the post after posting it.
Here is the schematic I had intended to attach. There is a reed switch in the charge receptacle and a magnet in the charger's plug. When plug is in receptacle, cart is disabled. |

Reed switch was the culprit.. Jumped it per JohnnieB's picture and all is good! |

IIRC: Scottyb posted that picture originally, I stole it.
Glad to hear you found and fix the problem. |
