Test the solenoid either it has failed or the solenoid activation has failed which may lead to the controller as Johnnie was saying

Yes, a solenoid test is a solenoid test. They all work on the same principals. The solenoid can be tested in or out of the cart.

Well I couldn't get continuity across the large post, but the solenoid clicks every time I make contact from battery pack to the small solenoid post.

A local cart shop has one for $31, I'll pick one up in the a.m.

One last question should I also get a resistor and diode?

Not sure if this will help, but for me I would be checking the sonic weld on a dcs. I have all kinds of problems with them.

Scotty or JohnhieB may be able to tell you the best way to find it. It's about 4 in. back from one the f and r switch in side the wiring harness.
This may not have anything to do with your problem, but my problem was solenoid would click and then for no reason it would not. Found the weld bad. Fix my problem.

lol - if the controller is burnt up then you probably need to replace - upgrade!
