Can we use slow TXT?
Greetings. Looks like it's going to take the powers that be a while to get me parts for our 01 TXT w PDS with the bad controller that runs slow. Can this cart be used without causing any more damage until I get the new controller? Thanks, M.C.

Re: Can we use slow TXT?
That kind of depends on what is making it slow. If a bearing was seazing, you don't want to keep driving. If a bad connection was getting hot, you don't want to keep driving. There are other things that could slow it down that wouldn't really hurt it.

It's a bad controller. johnnieB and Ski_doo583 greatly assisted in the diagnosis. I could get the parts and have it running last week but it's a bureaucratic thing.

I would be hesitant to drive it.

JohnnieB will have to comment as I'm not really competent to say. I would venture to guess it won't hurt to use it if you are replacing it. If your planning to fix it somehow, it wouldn't use it till its fixed.

Unless you know what is wrong, it is hard to say whether you will damage anything else by running it that way. I don't trust remote diagnosis all that much.

Re: Can we use slow TXT?
I can appreciate everybody wanting to help & I'm not picking on anybody but, if you don't know what's wrong with the unit or what the potential collateral damage is how you can you recommend he run the cart?
Once you see one of these plastic carts go up in electrical failure flames you never forget it. |

Re: Can we use slow TXT?
I don't know the failure modes of these things, but with all that potential in the battery pack I thought it might be a bad idea. Some things just quit and others go big. Thanks for the comments.
