If the cart does not roll on the ground and wheels turn in opposite direction when they are up on jacks, the motor is locked/frozen.

You may need to get the motor out of the cart and check if it is rusted into a solid mess.

You can also try rocking the cart back and forth on the ground to see if the motor will brake free.

Ok, motor apparently was frozen. Rocked cart and pulled it up driveway and got it free.

Cart will now run but is VERY weak (batteries are brand new and fully charged)..

Time for a motor/rebuild? We have over 48v at the motor..

Pull and disassemble the motor. If it was locked, you can count on the brushes / commutator being a mess. It may be fixable by a good motor shop. It probably got water in it.

Maybe just a good cleaning and bearing.

If it's had water in the motor for some reason...you may have a tough time getting motor out of the cart for inspection....if it won't just pull out after removing the mounting bolts you may have to remove the rear-end in order to get it apart. Also think about changing the rear-end fluid if the motor had water in it...

Thanks.. going to pull it out. I have a buddy who works at a local electric motor shop. Said he will check it out for me and let me know if it is worth fooling with.

Will report back!

Motor at shop being rebuilt.. Did notice the rear tires are still a bit difficult to turn. Not stuck but don't spin real freely either (this is with motor out). Is this normal?

Will check diff fluid, rear brakes, etc.. Other suggestions?

yeah your right it can be hard to remove those motors, if it gets stuck CAREFULLY take something thin and tap between the motor and where its mounted until you can fit a pry bar in there. then carefully work your way around with a pry bar until it can be pulled from the input shaft.

also, if you do remove the end cap from that motor, it can be a real pain in the hind end to get it back on.....talking from past experience lol

I'd check the brakes and drums... Mine were way out of adjustment (to the point it wouldn't stop) and are warped pretty bad. The shoes are also almost down to the metal.

New drums and shoes will make it new again.
