It maybe a bad micro switch slide. Over the years what happens is the slide gets a groove in it, and causes the slide to tilt to one side. This will cause it to activate the 1st micro switch.

I just bought one online and cost almost $100 dollars the only have 5 micro switches inside each micro switch cost about little less then $4 dollars I would recommend taking it out and buying 5 new switches for $20 then spend $100 for a whole new box. pretty simple to replace.
