Default Size difference between 6/6v and 6/8v.

I'm converting a '86 CC DS 6v to 8v. And upgrade to solid state.

My question is....Will my 6/8v fit in the 6/6v battery rack holders. Or do I have to modifie?

They'll fit fine in the 6V location.

Cut your self a piece of plywood 1/4 inch bigger than the battery footprint. Use this wood to locate the supports.

Do not put 48v to the old resistor coil drive system.

Make sure to use angled aluminum to replace the corroded areas of your battery try using, preferably, aluminum rivets to secure the brackets, but grade 8 SS bolts/nuts/washers shouldn't cause much of a problem. Using dissimilar metals like angled iron or steel for brackets to repair the aluminum battery tray could cause corrosive problems in the future.

Do not let the battery sit on a bolt head - it may wear a hole in the case.

You will like the C54 kit. Run it on 36v now and 48v later

Everything is out and off down to the bare frame. Frame is all cleaned up. Old stuff will not go back in.
