48v Club Car, solenoid clicks, won't run...
I have a 04 Precedent, when I bought it owner told me that it started to lose power, put new batteries in, solenoid just clicks but nothing. MCOR appears to be working properly, OBC light blue wire has 40v instead of 50v, checked motor, has continuity, and doesn't show anything to ground. Only 8v max to the motor, any info will help, thanks

How does the MCOR appear to be working properly? Did you check for the correct throttle signals at the 16 pin connector of the controller? You should see 6800-1100 ohms between the yellow and white wires when you cycle the pedal from top to bottom.

Ohm reading is about 5,500 ohms, the manual I got off line says 5.67k to 7.43k. Nothing close to the 11k you are saying. Will check tomorrow again. Are there different MCOR that have different ohm values?

Just realized you said 1,100, the ohm values went from 1.2k to 5.5k.

Re: 48v Club Car, solenoid clicks, won't run...
It sounds like a controller issue to me. You've obviously got a good working OBC or the solenoid wouldn't click. You've got a motor that ohms out with no issues, you've got an MCOR with the correct throttle signal a good micro switch that can trigger a solenoid to close on command. It sounds like you've got a bad controller. Process of elimination can give me a pretty good idea of what's going on here. Everything looks good except for the controller. Unless you want to spend a ton of money, put an Alltrax XCT300 in it and enjoy the performance benefits.

Can you give me more info about this Alltrax XCT300? Is it a direct swap? Are there any performance advantages and the Curtis is about $450 what do the Alltrax cost. Thank you for your reply....

The XCT is years ahead of the curtis. There is FREE user programming, Shift on the fly options, all performance features are user adjustable making it easy to program your cart for your needs. The controller has reverse polarity protection, waterproof, built in fan (optional on 300 + 400 amp models), and a 2 yr warranty. And free field maps available to run any motor made today. Deciding between a Curtis and an Alltrax control is a no brainer. |

The 300 amp version can be installed into the vehicle without upgrading any other components. It doesn't fit the same mounting holes as the Curtis, but it's not too bad of a job fitting it in there if you have a drill and some bolts.
