Re: 12 volt supply for accessories
You may have a 36-12V reducer already, CC reducer. It's located under the passenger side towards the front before the fender well, sorta. It powers off of the four passenger side batteries. You will have to get under the cart to see it. It should be silver with two wires hooked to it.
If that is what you have, I recommend getting a 48-12V reducer to power your accessories. It will draw equal voltage across the pack instead of just four of the batteries. Hooking up a 48-12 V reducer will require some wiring but easy to do on an afternoon with a few adult drinks. Reasons for doing this is saving the two batteries not hooked up the reducer that I think that you have now. Can explain later if this is what you have. |

Re: 12 volt supply for accessories
After looking everywhere and tracing the wires and finding no voltage reducer, I tested voltage at light harness and brake light switch. It read 16 volts. Whoever installed the kit just ran it off two of the batteries. No wonder the fuse blew twice since I had it.
Bought a Redhawk VOLT-2000 reducer to wire it correctly. Instructions call for ground wire to be connected to neg of battery 4. Shouldn't it be to battery 6? |

Re: 12 volt supply for accessories
The negative should be connected to the black cable with the yellow bullet connector behind the battery pack. This is the B- connector so that the OBC knows how much power is being pulled from the battery pack.

Yes, only ground to that black wire with yellow bullet connector. I would recommend getting blue sea fuse block w/ ground bar, that way all 12v stuff can be run from there, power and ground in one. |

Re: 12 volt supply for accessories
I put my 12 volt marine battery and the fuse block in the marine battery box in the bagwell. that is my central location for all things 12 volt.
All of my accessory wires leave the box to their respective places. I have 18" of extra wire on everything and the battery box will come out of bagwell onto the back seat footrest for servicing. I also have the battery maintainer there as well. The plug for the maintainer is poking out from under the battery box lid and I plug it in when needed. |
