Default O5 club car fault code 13

I have a club car ds with a fault code 13 main coil is this a solenoid problem? I don't know a lot about electric carts except the basics. I was lucky enough to borrow a scan tool. I has been sitting since last fall and the battery's were dead. I replaced them with 4 new Trojans (48v) any help would be appreciated. It backed up fine and went forward a few feet then died when put in reverse when pedal is pushed it feels like it wants to move but wont

That is a failure or fault in you main solenoid coil. (That is what closes in the solenoid to transfer voltage across it)

Thanks NoleFan4Ever. should I have 48v at the plug on terminals when I press the pedal?

Yes, when you press the Go Pedal (cart jacked up of course) you should get 48 volts across the 2 small posts. If you do and the solenoid does not close in, then you have an internal failure of the energizing coil.... You can jump across the 2 large posts to verify the solenoid failed. (cart still jacked up of course)
