What I need to know is if this is a Regen cart or an IQ cart. I do not see a OBC near where the controller mounts.

The "J" prefix if for a Precedent with the E.R.I.C. charging system (no OBC).

It is an EXCEL system. This was the first year (2014) that the ERIC charger was used and the cart does not have an OBC.

I am installing an Alltrax XCT 500 amp controller with a Alltrax 400 Solenoid. I'm assuming this set up is compatible. The only issue I have is the two light blue and blue with white stripe wires that plugged into stock solenoid do not have a direct plug in spot on new 400A solenoid. There appears to be two screw terminals that they may be retrofitted on with a ring versus male fitting.

Any ideas if I'm barking up the right tree? I can provide pics if needed.

That is the case with all precedents, you just need to cut the old quick terminals and crimp new #10 stud ring connectors.

That model is compatible with the XCT 500amp Controller.

So cut and put the rings on them to connect to solenoid like the above pic correct? I know I'm being stupid but just making sure.

If You got your Controller from Scottyb, look in the package as he puts the ring connectors in there.

After you crimp ring connectors on the wires, the light blue wire (positive), goes on the same small post as the "striped" end of the diode.

The blue/white stripe wires (negative) goes on the other small post with the other side of the diode.

Here is a comment for Scottyb, I just noticed the new wiring diagram on Alltrax site now calls for a required Regen Diode on the Precedents.

They did that without making any changes to the revision time stamps on the drawing itself, not very nice since the same dated version appears on their manual and without the Regen diode.
