Default 87 36V EZGO Charger Specs

Hello,

Does anyone have the specifications sheet for my original 36v charger? I would like to see what the profile is vs. the US battery profile for the 125 xc2s.

Thanks!

Which original 36V charger do you have?

Probably one of the two shown below.
Attch-1 Manual with timer only. (Timer counts down)
Attch-2 Automatic with control board. (Timer counts up)

Both of them are based on the Trojan battery charging profile (Attch-3), but the one with the control board (Attch-2) shuts of at 45V +/- 1V (44V to 46V), so it will chronically under charge your US Battery batteries if it is shutting off at less than 45V.

The other one (Attch-1) is timer only and will charge up to 12hrs. I it can get the on-charge voltage up into the 45V to 47V range by the time the timer times out, it meets the US battery specs. (Attch-4)

Personally, I'd get a charger that had a US Battery profile as soon as possible.

I don't recommend this by any means, but if you bypassed the relay on the control board, it would run until the timer shut it off in about 12 hours instead of when the on-charge voltage climbed into the 44V to 46V range.

Thanks for the replies JohnnieB. My dilemma is that I have found a deal on the US 125s at $550 out the door. I can also buy the Trojan Black Box batteries for $552.12 which my charger would work on. I'd love to invest in a DPI but they are **** near as much as I paid for the cart...
Not sure I want to bypass the OE charger but thought there might be a legit way to turn it up a bit.

The 125xc2 is 242AH while the Trojan black box is 210AH, so the US Battery is a far better deal if you can charge them properly.

I also have the opportunity for a set of T125s for $600, I assume that poses the same issue as the US 125s???

No, a T-125 (6V -240AH) is made by Trojan and your charger has a charging process based on Trojan's recommend charge profile.

They are E7 date codes but new. That sounds like the way to go.

THANKS! Happy New Year JohnnieB
