2002 club car in deep water
I'm a newbie and my cart recently was subjected to high water (over the seat) for 24hrs and now won't run.
I read that I could try bypassing the obc to see if it was ok or not and that could yield a lot of info. I installed a jumper between the battery negative and the negative wire on the charging recepticle and pushed the accelerator and it ran. I could vary the speed and all seemed good except it was running backwards! I put it in reverse and it won't run at all but in forward, it runs in reverse. I would guess the controller is good since I can vary the speed but, I don't know why it is reversed and it won't run in reverse?? |

Wow- there could be so many problems. OBC, internal motor damage, MCOR (if you have one), controller, floods and electric carts don’t mix at all.

Re: 2002 club car in deep water
I have the same situation with a cart that was stolen and abandoned in the surf. Mine may actually be worse with salt water. Although I can't say for sure, I would agree with Luke that all of the items he listed could need to be replaced. For my situation I plan on replacing the controller, solenoid and MCOR to start. If you motor is actually running I would hold off on that until you make sure that it is getting proper voltage to the right inputs. The other thing to consider is the batteries themselves, they should be contained, but be sure to check them individually and as a pack. The OBC is your call, if you love your charger then replace it, otherwise the bypass may be a cheaper option for you.

La Pesca, what's the serial number for your cart? Does the number start with AA02 or AQ02?

Tahoe can give you the specifics on your system, but you have to dry everything out.
I'm surprised anything worked. |
