Default Ezgo RXV problem after Curtis Upgrade

I have a 2011 EZGO RXV 48v. 4-12v Batteries. MODEL: RXV FLT ELEC. DATE CODE:F0711

I just finished the Curtis Controller upgrade and the cart is not working properly.
When I put the cart is R or F. You hear the Motor Brake & silenoid click. But the Motor Brake doesn’t seem to make the full “CLICK” noise. It’s more of a fluttering click. The cart moves back in R & Forward in F. But flutters slowly then stops and motor brake kicks in. Does anyone have any suggestions??

First was the cart running before you did the conversion?

Check your connection for the orange and white wire splice

In a previous thread you said you spliced the white wire from the adapter harness to the wrong white wire in the cart harness. Did you correct that? I have seen several posts that say you will damage the controller if you splice into the wrong wire.

In my case when I made the error I DID damage my controller.

The controller is repairable when this happens - if your good with electronics.

If not, FSIP sells remanufactured controllers on eBay.

I call this my 4 digit screw-up because I purchased a remanufactured controller from FSIP and used it for testing. Then once I was sure I had everything fixed I bought another 350 AMP controller that I reprogrammed. That's what I'm running on now. Haven't repaired the original controller yet, and my test controller was loaned to my local Yamaha dealer, and I haven't been paid for it or had it returned yet.

No. My controller was fried and I changed it out with the Curtis controller

Do you know what happened to the Danaher controller? I'm just thinking here that maybe something got fried along with the Danaher controller. If that's the case the new Curtis controller won't pass the start-up test. You will still be dead in the water.

Thanks. That’s what I’m thinking as well. The Danaher Controller got wet while I was washing it really well while the body was off getting painted. After washing the cart did not move.

Also I did cut the wrong wire while doing the controller swap. Instead of cutting white wire from motor break- I cut white wire from speed sensor. I did go back and splice the white wire from the motor break and used 3 way connector to splice with new white wire from the NEW 35 pin adapter. do you think any damage was done to my controller from doing that??

Thanks for your help

I'll let Bob jump in here but I would think you at least took out the motor speed sensor.

I followed the conversion intructions pretty close and it never mentioned to take out the Speed Sensor. When should I have done so? Or are you saying after it got wet I should have done something with the speed sensor?
