Default 2013 RXV Randomly slows down and speeds up

The problem occurs only with two people on board. Cruising at a constant speed, the cart randomly slows down briefly then resumes speed. The accelerator encoder has been replaced with no effect. Sometimes when lifting your foot off the accelerator, the cart stutters slightly while slowing down. Any ideas?

Might be the motor brake going bad. Do you ever notice a burning electrics smell? If you do it's the brake dragging.

No we don't notice any burning smell although a dragging brake sounds like a possibility. The curious thing is that it seems only to happen when two people are on board. I suppose another possibility might be batteries but they are only about 6 months old and test good under load.

What size tires? If over 20.5" without recalibrating the controller for that sized tire, speed regulation can become erratic. Otherwise, it could be a motor speed encoder starting to lose output on one channel. Check your motor speed encoder cable to see if the cable is too taught and getting pulled on. Try unplugging and replugging that cable and the motor temperature sensor cable to wipe the contacts on both...

Relieving the tension on the speed sensor cable and unplugging/replugging seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks
