Default 95 ezgo power loss

Have a 95 ezgo with all new batteries and cables. Stock controller and motor. Lifted with larger tires. After a full charge it will only go for about 5 min and then act like the batteries have died. Turn off the key for about 5 min and it will go again like fully charged for another 4-5 min before doing it again. This cycle just continues. It did this with the old set of batteries as well. Anyone have any ideas as to a cause?

Is this a series cart?
Is anything getting hot?
I’m just a novice, but a stock cart can have trouble turning the bigger tires and the controller can go into thermal shutdown. Not sure about all of them, but if your batteries are good, and it drives well for a bit, seems like a good place to start.

Check and tighten all of your cable connections.
Test each battery, then test as a pack.

What model controller do you have? It is not uncommon for the thermal sensor to fail causing the controller to shut down prematurely. This is common on lifted PDS carts and it can be fixed.
