Default Posting for a friend

I have a friend who owns a 2010 Precedent Club Car 48 volt.
He said the problem was when he was going slow for a short time the cart would die.

He ordered a meter to see just how strong the batteries were when it did this.

His dad had a cart just like this one so he ordered the same meter that he got for his dad.

When he went to connect it the thing blew. He said he doubled checked and it was connected the same exact same way his Dad's was.

Since this happened he said now when driving the cart in full speed it will go for while then just quit. He said it will finally take off again. Never did the wide open stopping until the meter was shorted.

Still sounds like it is a voltage issue or lack there of. Could be other things like motor brushes, solenoid, MCOR, etc.... Verify voltage first!

How about having him take a DVOM with him and next time it does this check for voltage where the charger plugs in ? Would that work ? He should have at least 46 volts at those terminals . Am I right on this ?

You sure can if you do not want to go directly to the pack, but 46 volts is basically a dead pack on that cart. It is actually about ~9% SOC......

Thanks, I meant to say 48 volts when testing. Sorry about that. I will let you know how we come out. Again thanks for your time. Tom
