Another Reed switch question
So I just bought a project. There is no charge port, so there is no reed switch. How can I get this thing to move?

Re: Another Reed switch question
Bueller, Bueller??
Anyone, have any idea. I installed 6 new batteries, hooked them up, with plans on installing a charging receptacle later. Looking at the Wiring diagram is shows the reed switch completes the circuit. I just need to know how to complete the circuit without a reed switch. |

What year, what model? We can then look up the wiring diagram to direct you where battery voltage should be applied to the controller to make it work.

Re: Another Reed switch question
BTW, I bypassed the solenoid and it still didn't move. Im really at a loss here. Does that read switch go from the positive side of the charging receptacle then directly to the F&R relay? That would mean the relay would be getting 36V and that doesn't seem right does it. My unit does not have a Tow/Maint switch either.
As I am sure most of you can tell, I am new to golf carts and needing guidance. |

Re: Another Reed switch question
That great thanks.
So I put a wire from the positive side of the battery pack directly to the F&R relays. Its drove perfectly. Drove it for about 10 mins around the blocks to see what my next fix would be (suspension) Got back in the garage and the 4 wires that are on that F&R unit are EXTREMELY hot! Why would they be hot? Re: Another Reed switch question
Bad cables or a bad F/R switch.
You should fully charge a new pack of batteries before you drive the cart. |

Re: Another Reed switch question
Noticed a ton of corrosion on the switch. When to pull the switch out and clean the posts and 3 of the 4 posts just broke off. So new switch it is!
