I need the help of the forum for a friend that uses a scooter
a friend needs a scooter to get around and he lives in a condo that will not allow him to charge the scooter from the power in the garage. is their a battery pack charger his wife could charge in their condo to charge the scooter? or a conversion kit to use lithium batteries that she could remove easily and charge inside? I have included a link to the scooter
https://www.mobilityscootersdirect.c...y-scooter.html thanks for the help you guys are the best |

It uses two 12V-75AH gel or AGM batteries in series for 24V and they weigh about 50 pounds each. Lithium would be about half that weight.
There is a chat room at the link you posted. Maybe they might have some ideas. |

Also, maybe let the condo manager have a read here, they may change their policy.

Check out. - https://www.wheelchairdriver.com/
Although based in the UK, John knows more about this than most. My wife is in a chair as needed and burgerman is in a chair all the time. He’s built some incredible equipment and graciously shared how it went. Best to you 7and your friend. |

Depending on your car ,I charge my scooter up all the time with the inverter I plug in my 12 volt lighter plug while driving. it keeps a full charge for me.

Quote:
The condo management probably has two routes of compliance. Let the mobility device be charged in the garage or provide a means of access to get the mobility device inside the user's condo so it can be charged. |

Re: I need the help of the forum for a friend that uses a scooter
the condo association will fight the ADA and threatens to kick them out which is why I was thinking maybe someone here has an idea of a way to mount a couple of batteries to run a charger to charge the onboard batteries

Re: I need the help of the forum for a friend that uses a scooter
Wow, if they get kicked out over this, they would have a "slam dunk" lawsuit that lawyers would be lining up to take on, with drool pouring out of their "lie holes".
I understand you are looking for solutions, not lawsuits, but that thing will kill a car battery if you tried to charge from a car via a 110v inverter. Batteries that you would carry up to the house to charge would be too heavy for people who require a scooter to carry. I'm betting mounting a solar panel array would be just as much of a problem as plugging in. |

Could they work out a fee to allow them to charge it where it is or is that not the issue?
