Default Dirty Cart

I have a 1999 ezgo cart with SPM48400 controller and rev contactor. Is it safe to hose out the battery compartment? Can the controller and other parts with stand water? Thanks

the controller is a SEALED unit....HOWEVER, I personally don't like to take chances around ANY electrical/electronic devices......THUS I always take the time and cover them with plastic bags, just to be on the safe side.

Lots of different opinions on this ... sometimes it depends on the age your your components on how "water resistant" they are. If you happen to leak water into a controller, it may cause an irreversible problem

On my particular cart, it is no problem to hose out the battery compartment as long as I don't splash back on other electrical components. Getting my controller wet can result in anything from a wrecked controller to a wide open throttle run away condition. I would suggest using caution as water and electronics don't play nice together

Read this thread for a little more information and a few more opinions.

I will wash out the floorboards but I usually just use the air hose on the battery compartment.
