New bulbs blow immediately after installed
Hey, guys. Shuffled through some posts and didn’t find the answer I needed. Long story short, I purchased a 2006 48v Electric Club Car Precedent from a friend recently. He had the batteries replaced the day I bought it from him, but I noticed the headlight doesn’t work. Tail lights and blinkers are working just fine, but whenever I replace the headlight it blows immediately once I flip the lights on. I’m thinking something got flipped when the batteries were replaced. It’s a 4 battery, 48 volt system. Which battery does the headlight need to be connected to directly?
This is how it’s currently set up. Appreciate any help. |

Where is the black wire from the light harness? Its probably plugged into the main negative. I cant tell in the picture where the black wire from the light harness is.

If they are 12v headlights and you don't have a voltage reducer on the cart then they should be connected to only one battery as yours are 12v batteries. If you have the hot lead to the lights going across the pack then you're sending 48v to the lights and thus blowing them.

Move the blue wire to the front passenger side positive post. Since your light negative isnt visible i assume its plugged into the main negative. By moving the blue wire to the front passenger positive battery post, you will have 12 volts. Where you have it now is 24 volts.

And may want to look into led bulbs if you are changing them anyway
