RXV/Danaher won't move.
I recently purchased a used RXV with Dahaher controller. I decided to fix the horn which led me in to the cupholder wiring mess. I tried some things and failed, so I put everything back like I had it. Now the cart won't move.
Healthy pack at 51v Here's how it's acting: Turn key from OFF to R: 2 solenoid clicks, constant buzzer. Accelerator does nothing. Turn key from OFF to N: 2 solenoid clicks, no buzzer self-test, accelerator does nothing. Turn key from OFF to D: 2 solenoid clicks, no buzzer self-test, accelerator does nothing. Turn key from OFF to D while holding accelerator: 2 solenoid clicks and buzzer self-test. After letting off the accelerator, accelerator does nothing. Turn key from OFF to (ANY) + tow mode = brake disengages. Cart has a nice 12v box so I removed the fuses from that to limit the number of variables, but made no change other than 12v accessories no longer working of course. I don't know if I broke something while I was trying to get the horn to work or not. I'm not a master electrician but not a complete noob either. The fact that I can get tow mode to work tells me that the brake is functioning, but I'm no expert with these things so I can't say that for sure. I want to upgrade to a Navitas TAC2.0 and don't know if that'll fix or exacerbate my issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I printed out the Danaher service manual and will try to work through what I can with that. Also, I tested continuity with the "run jumper" connector in the bottom of the cupholder and the 2 circuits are completed. Cart acts exactly the same if the jumper connector is connected or not. |

Re: RXV/Danaher won't move.
Did the cart ran before working on it? Follow the Danaher Guide and be careful when working on the harness, the RXV is pretty sensitive. What is a 12v box, a reducer?
Understanding the Power-up Sequence • The car will perform the following checks during the first second of initial key – on. • Electric brake check – Controller tries to rotate the motor ¼ turn in both directions. • Park brake check – Controller disengages and reengages the park brake. • Reverse alarm check – Controller sounds the alarm for 100ms. • Charger inhibit check – Controller checks the charge receptacle for connection to the charger. • Throttle switch check – Throttle switch must be open to pass the start up test. • Throttle position sensor – Controller checks the TPS for 0% throttle. .38-.56 volt • Throttle operation check – Controller checks the TPS for the correct open and closed range. .5-4.8v The car will not run if the controller detects a problem with any of the circuits above. |

Re: RXV/Danaher won't move.
Extreme caution should be used when working on the RXV wiring. A quick short trying to read a voltage can damage the controller. What happens if you pull both pedals back towards the seat and then turn the key to forward ? Are the clicks happening quickly or about 3-4 seconds after turning the key ?

What does the timing of the clicks typically indicate?

Re: RXV/Danaher won't move.
If I understand the question correctly, it's the self-test sequence of the controller. This thread is old but as cartdoc1969 suggested, I most likely killed the Danaher by probing with a multimeter which is just really sad for all parties involved.
I put a 600A Navitas in there and going well over 30mph so I'm good. |

Re: RXV/Danaher won't move.
I also went with the Navitas 600 amp controller. Went from 21/22mph to 37/38mph. Pretty crazy of a speed jump.
As for your issue, I would look under the dash and sort that out. If it ran before and the only thing you did was under the hood then it might be a wire issue. |

Re: RXV/Danaher won't move.
One thing I found on my 09 model RXV. I went thru the troubleshooting procedure. The very lasy test was to test brake for voltage with the key on. I had not voltage at the brake. But ,when I wiggled the harness at the brake pedal switch, I could get it to work. Replaced switch, and that fixed it. I bought it used from a guy who said it needed a controller. He did not go completely thru the troubleshooting tree. I paid $2k for my cart, and got it going by following tje service manual to a tee. Hope this helps.
