Re: New Member with Western 400
when you need batterys, you should go with 6-8volts and get rid of that 7th batt, all you need is 48v charger, your cart will handle it with more speed. kirk

Re: New Member with Western 400
Are you still familiar with western carts. I just bought one, but I'm not sure of year. I want to lift it. The serial on frame by batteries is: 40002613306

Re: New Member with Western 400
your chassis is a 2006, westerns are built on ezgo chassis and it could have been built later as western bought many chassis at a time.

Re: New Member with Western 400
I appreciate the response. What would you recommend for a lift kit? Here is link to post with pictures:

Re: New Member with Western 400
I have a 1998 42v western with a chrysler body. ( bought it used ) When I barely touch the foot peddle it goes full throttle, when I push it further down, the slower it goes. Something is reversed or flip flopped. Any ideas ? I am afraid to start moving wires around and maybe burn up the controller

Re: New Member with Western 400
when you step on the pedal, ( as you say barely), does it take off then slow down, even if you keep the foot in the same position?
In other words, can you make the cart go for a long distance, at full speed, by keeping the foot in the same position? Or can you not make it go a distance at a constant fast speed? |

Re: New Member with Western 400
Has it ever worked correctly since you got it? '98 should be a ezgo ITS throttle. Sounds like a bad ITS, or incorrect controller was installed. Neither the ITS, or the older style PB-6 0-5k throttle have any wires you can "flip" to fix this. If your cart has older style PB-6, you could remove the assembly, take it apart, unsolder a wire & resolder it somewhere else. If you dont have a good understanding of the PB-6, are not sure what your cart has, or have no clue what a potentiometer is, i dont suggest this idea.
