Loosen up the U-Bolt, rotate them out of the way and tighten the U-Bolts back up. This shouldn't change when installing springs. They've naturally got a little bit of "twist" in them naturally.

I just got done installing the springs as well. Same issue with the shocks being too short. I found a set of shock extenders at the auto parts store for 12 bucks made by Mr. Gasket. All the golf cart sites sold the exact same item for 3 times the price and then shipping on top. Haven't got them yet so I can't say if they work.

Just remove the shocks. Not needed with HD springs.

Just a note on the shocks listed earlier in this thread. I purchased the Monroe 5758 shocks listed on the first page of this thread to go with my dual action springs. They are way to long for my otherwise stock suspension 2001 DS. Maybe ok on a lifted cart?? They are the same length compressed as my stock shocks are when fully extended. Sending them back (hopefully ebay seller excepts returns) and am going to try Monroe 31176 shocks as per another thread on this site. Checked the specs on the 31176 on Monroe's site and they appear to be about 3/8" to 1/2" longer than my stock shocks extended and compressed

I went through this not too long ago. Purchased the 5758's and they're way too long, replaced with the 31176's and they are a perfect fit. This is on a DS w/HD springs.

31176 shocks fit perfect, but did notice they are much stiffer than the old ones and my brand new OEM front shocks. I will see how they ride when I get the rest of my upgrades finished and report back.

About a three beer job. One for the front and one each for each rear spring.

Do I need to replace the U-Bolts on my 2006 CC Precedent with longer ones or will the original U-Bolts be long enough?
