How to make new frame
Has anyone ever made a custom made frame? Our frame is shot and we want to design a new cart so we would like to have an aluminum frame custom made. We live on Island in Chesapeake Bay so we cannot have a steel frame as it completely rusted out.....engine still good but frame shot so we're looking at options...any advice???

Re: How to make new frame
if it were me, i would probably buy a new cart or find a cart that is complete electronics wise and is missing a body. I stick with club cars because they have an aluminum frame. There are lots of custom bodies for sale for them. eBay has some cool ones like a 65 mustang looking body and also a 57 chevy look alike body. there are others too. For my skill level thats what I would do. As far as building my own frame I dont have the resources to do so and paying for one to be made would probably cost more than a complete older club car would.

Re: How to make new frame
I would go with the club car because of the Aluminum Frame. I had one at the beach and it never rusted. Had another one that that was not aluminum that did rust almost completely out.
For your area I think the Club Car is the best route. I also used a product called POR15 on the top support rails and any other place I could get to. You may want to try using the POR15 on non aluminum parts. Good Luck! |

Re: How to make new frame
Clarification: We are purchasing a new/used cart arriving next week that is a Club Car. We are wanting to salvage this engine, etc. because it works well and make it into another vehicle. Do you think we could ultimately use a Club Car frame or are they too different???
