Default dcs problems

Seams like everyone is having DCS problems as I just read the other new thread.
Mine goes like this
will not run, It is a 1995 DCS
Batteries pack voltage is 37.7
voltage at controller is 37.6
Doing the DCS troubleshooting sequence turned out these numbers.
#1. at controller b+ 37.7
#2. at pin 10 37.7
#3. at pin 9 37.7
#4 at pin 5 37.5 at this point the beeper has been sounding in both f/r. when
pedal was pushed the solenoid clicked one time and stayed engaged after pedal was released. But the beeper went off and stayed off I turned tow/maint. off and back on and the beeper started all over.
#5. at pin 7 voltaqe was 37.7
#6. at pin 2 voltage 14.2
#7. at pin 1 voltage .3

Cart will not run. Have checked continuity on the motor.all was ok.
Beeper sounds all time.
I sure could use some help.
Thanks
sonny

Sounds like it is time to upgrade to a DCX400(DCS) controller.

In a DCS cart, the controller activates the solenoid and sounds the beeper.
They are both acting up, so chances are pretty good that the controller is bad.

When you have B+ (Battery pack voltage) on Pins 5, 6, 9 & 10, the solenoid should activate.

When you have B+ on those four pins and Pin-4, the beeper will sound.

Thanks JohnnieB
I have tried 2 other controllers, Plus the one that was on the cart to start with. Now they are both rebuilt controllers. So far I have had good luck with them. They all have the same problem or act the same way.
Do you have to have the motor wiring in place to check the activation circuit ?
Can you think of anything else I have missed?? are the numbers Ok?

As always thanks for your help. I hate to keep coming to the well. But I'm at a lost on this one.

I'm not sure one way or the other. I don't see any reason why the motor has to be connected, but you've got three controllers doing the same thing, so I would connect the motor and eliminate that possibility.

With a DCS controller, activating the solenoid is a two step process.
1. The solenoid has to be armed. That is done by applying B+ to one of small terminals (Coil) via the Reed switch, Run/Tow switch, F/R switch and key switch.
2. Then the solenoid has to be triggered. That is done by the controller applying B- to the other small terminal. The controller is told to apply B- to solenoid by the pedal switch applying B+ to Pin-5.

(Note: The controller also activates solenoid when regen braking occurs)

----------
The pack voltage is a bit low, so the batteries need to be charged, but it is high enough to run.

The voltage on Pin-1 is a bit low, but that is the ITS, so it wouldn't cause the solenoid or beeper to misbehave.

You didn't mention what the voltage on Pin-6 was, but solenoid did activate and stayed activated, so it was probably okay.

-------

Personally, I'd install Scotty's 505DCS kit and be done with it.
The DCS controller has some design issues and the DCX400 is Plug-n-Play.
With it installed, you'd have a cart with a lot of torque and speeds up to 20MPH on stock height tires.

I have had the motor wired and unwired. I ran all the continuity check on the motor and all was fine.
Then I changed the motor and It works fine. There is something inside the motor in wrong. I don't know what, as of this writing, but for now it is working.
Your question on pin number 6 and 4 is something they (factory) didn't ask to be checked, so I have never pay any attention to those pin. I will in the future.
Pin 6 had 37.7 and pin 4 had 0 till I put in rev. then 37.7.

Thanks so much for the help.
