Default Battery meter...HELP

I almost got stuck once w/ low (slow) batteries. So I added this meter with + lead to the key switch & - lead to the battery.
When the meter was on the 2nd bar from full, the cart felt slower. I put it on the charger @ 8pm and it was still running @ 4:30am.

Does this fall into the category: You get what you pay for???

sorry to say it but yes...the bar graph meters are not that accurate
you need a soc meter that shows the real voltage

depleted batteries take a while to recharge .. up to 20hrs

Before you give up on it try resetting it first. Disconnect it completely, Charge the cart to full and let it sit for the pack voltage to come down. Now hook it back up and see how it behaves.

Not necessarily, depends what you paid, but I would recommend that you try to determine what your meter is telling you. That would require that you obtain a DVM (digital voltmeter) and check the battery pack voltage at the various LED meter indications. If you search the site for SOC chart you should be able to come up with a chart of voltages vs SOC (state of charge). If you've been reading this site at all you will see that most recommendations for a meter are a digital voltmeter like scottyb sells. Hope this helps. - RAY

Ordered a digital dash volt meter off ebay for about $8. Most of the bar types I've seen command $25-$50!

I'm with kgsc on this. Also do a couple of cycles of driving the cart and then charging completely. Then check it with a hand held digital voltmeter. I know these meters have a bad rep here but I put one just like yours on a Marathon and it worked fine. FWIW that $8 digital meter will likely be worth what you paid for it.
