erradic take off's
I have an 2006 EZGO TXT and Im having problems when I try to go slow in my cart. It jumps bad and once I give it more throttle it works fine. Is there a way to check the sensor or somehow set the plunger?
Tks : ZAZU |

Zazu. first tell us what type of drive system do you have.....series or sepex?
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...en-system.html oh and btw.....Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

When it's jumping at slow speed, can you hear the solenoid clicking on and off?

Re: erradic take off's
My guess is the ITS plunger is starting to enter the ITS while the microswitch is right at the ragged edge of fully engaging. When it jumps, it may cause you to move your foot on the gas pedal. Another option could be the microswitch needs replacement.

Re: erradic take off's
I watched the microswitch fully engage before it jumped. like I said its a fine line from where it jumps to normal operations. Its only when Im trying to keep a slow steady speed. is there a way to check the ITS. Im thinking that could be the problem.

Re: erradic take off's
Since you said the solenoid was clicking on and off, you can rule out the ITS. In order for the solenoid to engage, the following switches need to be closed:
Reed switch, MS on the FNR, key switch, and the MS in the throttle box. Since the problem seems to be only occurring at slow speed, My bet's still on the throttle MS. None of the other switches are being moved as you speed up or slow down. It could also be a bad solenoid, but the solenoid doesn't know or care what speed you're running, so I'd rule that out. Did you check continuity on the throttle MS or just see when it clicked? It's pretty cheaply constructed, and may have been driven through deep water, gotten dust/dirt/grime inside, or just plain worn out/failed. |
