Default Controller or gears?

I just bought a 2003 ez-go series cart.

I am ok with the current torque and speed. But I bought a 5" Drop Axle Lift Kit and 12" rims and 23x10.5-12 Street Turf Tires.

90% of the time I drive on level paved road 10% of the time I'm on a long moderate incline that the cart currently struggles on the edge of being too slow. As long as it doesn't go any slower than it currently does stock Id be happy.

Knowing that I'm getting the larger tires. I know that I'm about to loose allot of torque. I cant decide what to do. Upgrade the controller or change to 15:1 gearing.

I really don't need anymore speed or torque I just need to counter the tire size upgrade.

Already have newer batteries and 4 gauge wires.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Ok ok so my current controller is 350amp Curtis. If I was to purchase a NPX 400amp non programmable. Would the extra 50 amps compensate for the tire diameter increase?

Pkg #484
SPM-48400 Campground & Neighborhood
460 peak amp output, 36 or 48 volt operation, with a 200 amp 36-48v heavy duty solenoid.
Big tires & rear seats okay on moderate terrain.
Resistor and Diode, and safety Main Fuse included ...
More peak amperage than the NPX400 or AXE400. More amperage = more torque.

Controller over gears always.

Don't forget about your f&r switch, might want to get a heavy duty one now also.

ScottyB is the best place to buy these items.
